The community and voluntary sector across Derbyshire is warmly invited to All Shall Be Well: A Celebration of Volunteers and Trustees, taking place on Sunday 7 June 2026 at 2:30pm at Derby Cathedral.
Hosted by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire and The Dean of Derby, in partnership with Rural Action Derbyshire, Community Action Derby and Foundation Derbyshire, this annual service celebrates the dedication, time and impact of volunteers across our communities.
This year, there is a special focus on trustees – the volunteers who work largely behind the scenes but play a vital role in shaping, guiding and sustaining charities and community groups, including village halls. At a time when many organisations face challenges recruiting trustees, this event highlights the importance of these roles and encourages more people to consider how they can get involved.
The service is open to all, including volunteers, staff, trustees, service users and supporters. It will also reflect on hope and resilience within the sector during challenging times. Contributions will include a reading from RAD CEO Emma Simpson and reflections on trusteeship from Kerrie Fletcher (RAD Trustee) and Ray Khumalo (Chair of Community Action Derby), alongside a performance from Dale Diva.
Refreshments will be served after the service, offering an opportunity to connect and celebrate together.
