What We Do
Rural Action Derbyshire is an independent charity that works to improve the lives of people living and working in rural communities across Derbyshire. We help to address the challenges that can come with rural life, including isolation, limited access to services, fuel poverty, housing shortages, digital exclusion and domestic abuse.
We do this through a range of practical projects and partnerships that support both individuals and communities. Our work includes managing a county-wide Community Oil Buying Scheme, supporting village halls and community buildings, improving access to affordable rural housing, tackling food and fuel poverty, promoting digital inclusion, raising awareness of rural domestic abuse, and helping people stay safe from scams.
Alongside delivering services, we act as a champion for rural Derbyshire, working with communities, charities, local authorities and national organisations to ensure rural voices are heard and rural needs are not overlooked.
